Finally time has come to “move up” for our 2017/18 Preschool batch! At noon time of April 4, 2018 our 32 BPLC Bukas Palad Learning Center children and their families gathered to celebrate. The pupils were finally able to present their families what they have learned during the year.
The sound of solemn music makes our students realise that their final celebration will start. One by one they step into the Bukas Palad Multi-purpose hall and walk to their chairs, watched by the proud parents. Each child receives an award for his/her academic achievements, skills, attitude or transformation. The nervous but very proud children get their awards on top of the stage, before taking their graduation picture with the parents. Also the most active mothers, who joined the “School of Life” meetings every week and supported Bukas Palad by doing Community Service, received an award for their commitment.
But the children also want to say thank you for their parents love and support by performing a small program and presenting their skills: one performs a poem, another the song “Konting Awa”. The audience is very impressed, despite little mistakes. After that, the group performs two action songs they learned in the BPLC: “Flame of love”, “Gift to you” and their graduation song “Ready to go”.
This year was a very important one for our students. They became a very united group and made a lot of friends; they learned a lot of things, not only about Math and Writing, but also about life. As the experts say, what a child learns up to the age of 3 years, will be remembered for the whole life. We are proud to influence the children in this important time of their life and hope they will remember what they learned in Bukas Palad!
